Ramon Sosa and his fake death….

A boxing coach named Ramon Sosa, From Houston, Texas, USA, faked his death in 2016, in order to get his wife, Lulu, put behind bars. It turned out that his ex tried to pay a hitman $2,000 to have him killed. Until Ramon Sosa foiled her plans. There was a red flag at their wedding when his mother in law told him: “Now she’s your trouble”. Sosa worked with the FBI to create fake murder photos, which snared Lulu and had her jailed for 20 years. However, despite finding love once more, Ramon feels sad in the way his relationship ended. Feeling as though that they’d both ‘spend the rest of our lives together.

Ramon decided to fake his own death after he caught wind of his wife Lulu hired a hitman to kill him. He revealed that she ‘laughed like a lot winner’ when she believed that her plan had succeeded. Ramon Sosa is 55 years old and is from Houston, Texas. The even happened in 2016. He worked with the police in Houston, Texas to catch his Mexican wife Lulu after she offered a former client of his $2,000 to kill him. The plan to catch her involved Sosa, a boxing coach, who runs his own gym, to fake his own brutal murder. All complete with photos of him laying ‘dead’ in a ditch with a gunshot wound to the head.

Trouble in Paradise

Lola is from Mexico City, but she was granted US citizenship in 2013 after marrying Ramon Sosa. She is now serving a 20 year jail term for attempted murder. However, the trouble was brewing and even foreshadowed back in 2010 when they wed. It was their wedding day, March 15th 2010. When his mother in law told him that “Now, she’s your trouble”. When they were dating she treated Sosa “like a king while we were dating, she was a wonderful person” Sosa told the Daily Mail that after hearing that she’s his trouble, he was shocked but very happy to be married. Problems arose several years into the marriage however. As Lulu, a mother of two, sided with her eldest son in arguments. Sosa told the Daily Mail that he wanted to be the man of the house but he told him that “As long as you live under my house, as long as I’m putting food on the table, there’s only one man in the house” but Lulu was always taking his side.’

Discovery

Sosa found out about the plot to kill him after his friend and ex-gang member ‘Gustavo’. Revealed that she was planning to kill him by a hitman. Gustavo was ‘like a third son’ to him and agreed to record meetings with Lola about the hit. It was then when the pair took the evidence to the police. A plan was set in place. Ramon Sosa staged a photo where he posed in a grave with a fake bullet hole in his head. Therefore making it appear as if he had been assassinated. With the help of the FBI, Texas Rangers painted bloody make-up on Sosa. It appeared as if he had been shoot in the temple. Sosa was then driven to a Texan desert and buried him in a shallow grave. Sosa then went underground for three days. Therefore leaving family and friends to believe that he had gone missing. A photo of Sosa’s ‘death’ was shown to Lulu by an undercover FBI agent. Laughing when she saw it, she was arrested.

How Ramon Sosa felt afterwards

Sosa was ‘sad’ to see her jailed telling The Sun:

‘ It was very sad, I have so much rage but so much sadness. At one time we were in love – I thought I’d spend the rest of my life with her.’

‘It hit me that I still had to live under the same roof with the person planning to have me murdered.

‘I slept with the enemy and with one eye open, all while trying to act as “normal” as possible so Lulu would continue with her plan…. it was the only way to catch her in the act,’

Of staging the photograph, he said:

‘It was chilling. Utterly and indescribably chilling.

‘That picture, to this day, reflects one of the most difficult things I have ever done in my life. The thought of me lying in a shallow grave in my underwear with a bullet hole through my temple is mind boggling.’

Sosa said that though their marriage and divorce was ‘difficult’, he ‘never, ever for one moment’ thought she would try to have him killed.

‘In hindsight I can tell you that she not only wanted to have me murdered, but she had been planning to destroy the life I worked so hard to build for some time.

‘After I received all the evidence that the authorities had collected from Lulu, I can honestly say that l am very lucky to still be alive.’
