Best Bits Of E3 Part 1

Microsoft Conference

Firstly, Microsoft kicked things off at E3 this year and boy did they have a lot to announce! To be exact 50 games, 18 exclusives and 15 World Premiers! Brand new Halo was teased called Halo:Infinite, Kingdom Hearts III was announced to be coming to Xbox, brand new Battletoads title was announced for Xbox, Forza Horizon 4 was shown off as was Devil May Cry 5.

A sequel to the popular Ori and the Blind Forest was announced called Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Cyberpunk 2077 was announced right at the end of the show as they were tying up. We don’t know much about this game but the trailer looks super cool and we’re interested!

Also, One of Microsoft’s heavy hitters Gears of War has a brand new title coming called Gears 5. This installation of the hugely popular franchise takes a female lead in Kait. Where she leads a team that includes Marcus Fenix along an adventure that is immensely personal. Searching for clues about her own life! Against the wishes of her team leaders. Furthermore a huge announcement from Microsoft is that it’s doing more for gamers! An announcement that 5 more studios are now a part of the Microsoft Studios umbrella. Consequently these include Ninja Theory, Undead Labs, and a new team in Santa Monica called the Initiative. (The Verge)

Ubisoft Conference

Ubisoft also announced a lot of brand new games at E3! Assassins Creed is still going strong since their very first stellar instalment. Ubisoft announced Assassins Creed: Odyssey. The game takes place in Greece, 431 BC, whereby users take the role of Spartan Warriors Alexious and Kassandra in the massive open world adventure.

A sequel to the hugely popular Trials was announced Trials Rising. Users take a hold of a character riding motocross motorbikes challenged with overcoming puzzles and obstacles! Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 was announced and if it’s as good as the first consider us interested! Yet, this time users are able to complete raids in teams of 8!

Beyond Good And Evil 2 was announced with the return of Jade being highlighted in the cinematic trailer for the game. StarFoxx was announced as a playable character for Starlink Battle For Atlas!

Mario Plus Rabids

Also, the guys also discussed Nintendo’s Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, the turn based tactical role playing game from Ubisoft for the Switch. Mario + Rabbids is a crossover game featuring Nintendo’s Mario characters and Ubisoft’s Raving Rabbids franchise. While the role playing game can be played either singularly or with a friend in co-operative play. The story see’s users control Mario and his friends alongside the Rabbids dressed as them against a rogue team of Rabbids. Bethesda

Away from all the Fall Out 76 hype, Bethesda also announced a ton of other titles at E3. Well, there is good reason for the Fall Out 76 hype, it’s 4 times the size of Fall Out 4. FOUR TIMES and Fall Out 4 was HUGE! It’s also a sequel to Fall Out 4, so there’s good reason to be excited! Doom Eternal was announced as a sequel to 2016’s Doom. There wasn’t a lot of information dropped, but expect to see more during QuakeCon in Dallas on Aug 10.

An all new Wolfenstein was announced  to be on the way! The co-op game will star B.J Blazkowicz’s twin daughters and take place during the 1980’s. Fallout Shelter is on it’s way to the PS4 and Nintendo Switch. Elder Scrolls: Blades is a brand new fully fledged RPG Elder Scrolls game and is making it’s way to mobile devices.

Bethesda’s foray into space is confirmed and it’s called Starfield. The free-to-play collectible card game Elder Scrolls: Legends is coming to PS4, Switch and Xbox One. Bethesda also announced that the long awaited Elder Scrolls VI is in development! (Variety)

Bandai Namco’s Jump Force

For all you anime fans out there Bandai Namco’s Jump Force is just the game for you! Announced during Microsoft’s conference, the brawler, fight em up will feature a lot of your favourite anime characters. Characters from the Dragon Ball universe, Naruto, Death Note and One Piece. The game is said to be dropping in 2019! However, even though it was announced during Mircosoft’s conference there is no word that this is an exclusive to the Xbox. (Verge)

Super Smash Brothers

Marcus and Mr Midas also discussed what Nintendo are going to be showing off at their conference! With Super Smash Bro’s all but certain to be shown off at E3 after the release trailer back in March of this year. The trailer back in March was just a teaser and no gameplay was shown, so some is expected to be highlighted this week. While, there is a strong rumour however that there’s going to be a total of 8, yes EIGHT, characters being announced!

Tomb Raider

Tomb Raider is returning and the brand new title is called Shadow Of The Tomb Raider! It’s scheduled to be released on September 14th on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Square Enix are calling this installation of Tomb Raider a “climactic finale” and “the end of the beginning”. While it most likely will not be the end of Tomb Raider entirely, we may see a “Logan” esque type Tomb Raider games in the future? This installation is also said to be one of the most difficult Tomb Raider games yet, with director Daniel Chayer-Bisson stating to Tech Radar that:

“This will be, I would say, the most difficult Tomb Raider of all the Tomb Raiders. That is important because this is a more experienced Lara….going to be bigger, it’s going to be harder, and that tomb shows the first ever puzzle you’ll solve and it’s very difficult.

Checkpoints are not far away from when you die, so having these gruesome deaths make you feel bad to fail, and do everything to stay alive.”

Yet, Bisson also stated that Lara’s iconic dual pistols won’t be making an appearance either and she will have to rely on her bow and arrow! (Tech Radar)

Marvels Spider-Man

Insomniac’s Marvels Spider-Man was shown off at E3 this year and it impressed the E3 crowd and those watching at home a like. Spiderman is an action and adventure open world game exclusive to PS4. The gameplay trailer that was shown off this year did not disappoint. It looks just like a movie and the devs over at Insomniac have done a wonderful job of seamlessly transitioning between gameplay and cutscenes. Also revealed was a whole host of villains that Spidey will be taking on too! Villains include Electro, Rhino, Scorpion and Vulture. Consequently, all of whom escape from the maximum security prison that we see in the trailer above. Hype has been huge for this game and for all the right reasons too! It’s shaping up to be a heavy hitter when it releases on 7th September 2018 as an exclusive title for PS4. (The Verge)
