NFL

Nick Bright has some NFL information for us this week on How To Kill An Hour! He discusses in the run up to SuperBowl that we should get more involved in NFL and once you learn the basics of NFL it really is an enjoyable sport and its not all just a poor mans Rugby.

Basically you have to get 10 yards up the field and you get 4 chances to do so. If you get to the 10 yard line within 4 tries you get another 4 and another 4 all until you get to the goal, or you can run to the other end of the pitch and get a touch down, but if you don’t get there within 4 you have to punt it long.

Confused?

Listen to Nick Bright on this weeks show to give you a quick run down of NFL so you don’t get all confused and got to bed when the SuperBowl is on, because you’ll be missing out!

Luke Cage on Netflix!

Marcus has been really poorly this week so between stabbing pens in pineapples and listening to music on his Bragi Dash in the shower, he has been binging on the Luke Cage series on Netflix. He was not dissapointed! So much so he went ahead and bought the killer soundtrack that goes along with it.

If you don’t know what or who Luke Cage is here is some information for you to learn.

Situated within the Marvel Universe, Luke Cage, is a former bad guy convict who is now on the other side of the law and fighting crime. Sounds pretty normal right? Well Luke Cage is a superhero with incredible amounts of strength and not only can he outlift you in the gym but he has unbreakable skin. Practically making him unstoppable.

The music is just as good as the show itself, featuring music from hip hop giants such as A Tribe Called Quest and Wu-Tang Clan. The shows composers Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad were aiming for a hip hop influence stating that “It was about getting that hip-hop foundation and making sure those drums were as big as day,”  even go as far as naming the episode titles with hip hop references.

The Night Of.

“After a night of partying with a female stranger, a man wakes up to find her stabbed to death and is charged with her murder.”

The Night Of is an 8 part crime drama miniseries that is broadcast on HBO and Sky Atlantic in the UK. Based on the 2008-09 British miniseries Criminal Justice, the drama written by Richard Price and Steven Zaillian and directed by James Marsh follows a man who wakes up to find that he had been charged with the murder of a female stranger whom he had been partying with the night before.

Narcos on Netflix

Narcos is the programme that everyone is talking about and Season 2 started recently which Funk Butcher has been fully engrossed in and has been trying to get Marcus Bronzy involved in with little joy, however on this weeks show Marcus may have been persuaded to give Narcos another go!

The programme is created and produced by Chris Brancato, Carlo Bernard and Doug Miro and follows the drug king pin Pablo Escobar’s life and how he became a billionaire selling the illicit substance. The series was so successful Season 2 was green lit and most recently the programme has been renewed by Netflix for a 3rd and 4th season!

Suicide Squad

Funk Butcher defended Suicide Squad the past few weeks but…..Marcus Bronzy wasn’t as joyful when describing how he found the film. Not only did Marcus not like the film itself, he really wasn’t feeling the costumes and outfits that the characters in Suicide Squad were wearing. Most notably Harley Quinn and Killer Croc, saying that he needed to be more scary and less clean cut. He shouldn’t be watching TV when he is a cannibalistic croc who eats people yet in one scene the monster is chilling watching TV. Come on guys! Make him more scary and less chilled.

Jason Bourne Film

Here at How To Kill An Hour we don’t mind a film or two when deciding to kill an hour away from the podcast and working. If you don’t know “Jason Bourne” is the 5th installment of the Bourne series (4th if you don’t include the Jeremy Renner sequel) directed by Paul Greengrass with Matt Damon reprising his role as the rogue agent Jason Bourne. The film is about the former CIA assassin resurfacing while those who are hunting him down develop a new programme to find him. He’s fully recovered from the knock on his head which gave him amnesia and enlists the help of Nicky Parsons to uncover the truth behind his dads death. All while kicking government ass in the process.

This sounds awesome right? Well co-host Funk Butcher didn’t share that opinion, while doing his best to defend Suicide Squad a few weeks back, Funk didn’t hold back with his thoughts on how he spent his time with Matt Damon. Ouch!
