There’s a reason as to why we always want to check our phones!
Sharon Begley, author of ‘Can’t Just Stop: An Investigation of Compulsions’, thinks we a hit of dopamine (it’s what makes you feel good when listening to your favourite music) when checking our phones. It’s not about the texts we receive or the likes on a Facebook post – it’s the anticipation, we’re secretly hoping to see something that will give us a pleasure boost.
Which is why so many of us are seemingly addicted.
Begley recommends simply to check all your emails and texts at the end of the day rather than throughout.
