A woman used Tinder to help rescue her after her camper van that she was test driving alongside two friends, became stuck on an icy cliff edge. Lonia Haeger was traveling through Norway when she got trapped at the precipice of a cliff edge.

Unfortunately they got stuck in Nordkapp of Northern Norway in an ice storm!

While travelling in the remote Nordkapp of northern Norway the trio got caught in an ice storm.

Lonia, posted on Instagram

“Just after 30 minutes driving down of the North Cape, it started raining…the street iced up that we even couldn’t stay on one point!

The worst, we stopped in front of a mountain going down, next to the street just ocean and big rocks and we stopped exactly behind a curve.”

The moment you realize your are helpless against Mother Nature.”

Tinder To The Rescue!

They were terrified that anything could have pushed them off the cliff such as a car or the rapidly building ice. Furthermore remote location emergency services were too far away to reach them in time.

So Lonia used Tinder to help her:

“While sitting in our camper with the fear that every second the car could slide down the mountain or a car could crash into our camper due to the slippery road, Phil had the weird but actually genius idea to create a tinder account with me and this fluffy cutie.”

She created a Tinder account with a snap of her and her dog. Then Lonia was able to quickly track down someone near her and her friends to come and rescue them.

Not 5 mins later, they were rescued by a local man called Stian.

She continued on Instagram:

“Another 5 minutes later he came up with his Bulldozer and shaped lines in the ice. We followed him to the next parking slot and the day after our hero organized tires with spikes! (There wasn’t a mechanic closer than 200km).

“Now we can continue our road trip to the Lofoten. Tusen takk for your help @stianlauluten.”

Steven Stade who organised the trop said that everyone was really worried for them but was glad that Stian the kind construction worker was there to help.

Tinder Streaming?

Tinder is said to be getting into the streaming world. How? Well it is setting it’s sights on helping you pair up with prospective dates through what you watch!

Reuters first reported Monday that Tinder’s parent company, Match Group have finished filming. What is it they’re filming? Well it is said to be a multi episode television series with an “apocalyptic” setting. While one source told Reuters that the series would involve romance, it is said that the romance storyline is a subplot.

However, Variety have also reported something similar, with an alleged six-episode series, choose your own adventure show. Revolved around the question “Who would you spend your last night alive with?”

Tinder Streaming: Content Offerings

Match Group, according to Reuters are wishing to expand it’s original content fofering and better engage it’s users. Variety, citing a source, are claiming that Tinder hopes to mine series selections to create algorithms that pair up users with one another.

Yet another insider close to the project said Tinder intends to create an algorithm based on how its users make decisions within the series, and then match them with romantic interests based on those choices. A Tinder user’s particular view on how a group of characters should spend the eve of the apocalypse will lead them to others with similar takes, the thinking goes, and then, perhaps, to an awkward first date in real life.

Variety continued to report that the series will stream from within the app. Swiping right or left will reveal the storyline further. It is said to launch in early October. Karena Evans, who has directed multiple music videos for Drake, reportedly shot the series. Which Reuters and Variety state the the show was filmed in Mexico City.

Tinder 2 second videos

This may be the best thing that Tinder have done, or the worst thing they’ve done. Tinder have announced that coming to their dating apps are a ‘looping image’ (basically looping videos) feature that will allow users to share short 2 second videos of what they love doing.

However, as with all new technology, it may, well, will, be put to ‘uses’ – But maybe the big wigs at Tinder were aware that the ‘looping video’ feature will spawn a ton of helicopter d*ck videos?

The new ‘looping videos’ moving profile image, (much like those available on Facebook) help, as Tinder announced, show more personality. In an effort to get more right swipes. (or helicopter D*ck)

Looping Videos: Advice

But the dating app have offered advice to their users. Explaining ways in which they can show off their habits, roller skating, you could show off going up and down the rink. Football, kicking the perfect penalty. Or if you’re a dancer, maybe showing off your best robot skills?! Bungee jumper? Show off, jumping off a high cliff? Whatever people do, I’m sure people will find super creative ways to use this feature. As with Vine (ok it was 7 seconds and not 20 but the internet is creative and intelligent, so we may see some pretty cool stuff!

Even though there may be a chance that there’s going to be a ton of helicopters about, there are ways to report an account that does so. So, there may not be as many flying D*cks about as you once thought!
