The Camera

The photos that this camera takes are on a 16 megapixel lens too, so the photos that you’re going to be taken are going to be of a very high quality. The printer has no toner in it either. The zinc cartridges that it takes combine the paper and the ink. Plus you can buy the paper in packs of 20,30 or 50 sheets.

Furthermore the vertical orientation design of the Polaroid Mint Instant whilst mimicking the classic polaroid photo, they are taken upright, just like a smartphone. There’s a bunch of different modes too. Such as vibrant color, black and white or vintage.

2000 VS 2020

15th November 2019/in Gadgets / Tech/by billywright

So 2020 is right around the corner, which is a whole 20 years ago! So our friends over at OnePlus decided to compare what we did with technology to what we do currently and beyond. It’s quite eye opening to see how far we’ve come since the year 2000 and the Millenium Bug. Who remembers THAT! How scared were we? For nothing! Anyhow, without further adieu check out below how far we’ve come!

2020 vs 2000 – In 2000 we:

  1. Played snake….in 2020 we play the piano on the OnePlus 7T Pro
  2. Blackberry messaged….in 2020 we say what’s up on Whatsapp
  3. Called a premium rate number to get a ringtone such as Ms. Jackson, in 2020 our phone is on perma-mute
  4. An sms costs around 12p….in 2020 the only people who send sms are Dominos (but who can resist 50% off?)
  5. Our mobile phone batteries lasted around three days….in 2020, we’re shouting across the office “who’s got a charger I can borrow?”
  6. The o2 was called the Millenium Dome and o2 was called BT Cellnet…and in 2020 the Millennium Dome & BT Cellnet are both called o2 – Orange is now EE and One2One is now T-Mobile
  7. We had to use a digital camera to take a phone, as camera phones didn’t exist… in 2020 digital what! Camera phone cameras are so advanced, there’s no need for a traditional camera of a lower res
  8. Apps meant a uni or job application… in 2020 the app market is worth an estimated $71.3 billion
  9. We used to upload our holiday photos from a digital camera into Facebook albums…nowadays we let everyone know we’re on holiday by posting our hotdog legs and pina colada on Instagram
  10. We walked around with a mobile phone and a Diskman…we currently stream til’ our heart’s content on a smartphone

Robot Guards will take your photo!

28th August 2019/in Gadgets / Tech/by billywright

Robot Guards will now take your photo if you attack it. In various places in America robots are roaming about to monitor places such as banks, casinos, malls and hospitals. Earlier this month in Hayward California, a security robot captured video of an alleged attacker before it was knocked over.

Knightscope who make the robots say that they weigh a total of 398lbs. That’s alot! Knightscope tells The Verge that there are 75 robots deployed in 15 different US States, and a report at Vox suggests that they won’t be replacing human guards any time soon. Slack has two robots from Cobalt to help secure it’s offices, but real human guards are still there.

The bots do simple on-duty tasks such as scanning a doorway. While humans need to intervene if it detects some tomfoolery. Futhermore the bots from both Knightscope and Cobalt don’t have any weapons so won’t be able to use force.

(The Verge)

They don’t have weapons now but we wouldn’t be surprised if things like tazers and batons where implemented into the robots at some point in the future.

Twitter video becoming like Snapchat?

21st March 2018/in Entertainment/by billywright

Twitter are said to be working on a Snapchat style video sharing tool. Twitter video is about to get very interesting in the next few months if the latest rumour is true. The social media platform are said to be working on a new way to make sharing videos on it’s platform easier.

Three sources have told CNBC that a Snapchat like camera-centric feature is in the works and may follow the same life that Snapchat’s snapmap works. So, for those unaware’s Snapchat’s Snapmap allows you to scroll around the map of the world and zoom into certain areas to see what’s going on in the world. Within this feature there is a huge focus on popular events.

According to CNBC’s sources, Twitter’s version of this would utilise the already popular Twitter moments feature that is already built into the social media platform. The location data on popular photo’s and videos would merge with the Twitter moments. Therefore creating a much broader collection of data and information surrounding important events.

Twitter Video: Growth

Most notably this new feature would allow Twitter to grow on the growth that it’s had recently. By implementing this new Twitter video discovery feature, it will attract advertisers to the brand. Sponsored content among user created content will help Twitter. The social media platform will grow, as well as promoting impact in the wider world.

While this seems as though the feature is at the very early stages of development. We’re rather excited by what the future holds for Twitter video. As especially since the growth of live content on Twitter, as shown by Twitter’s focus on livestreaming news content.
