Far Cry: New Dawn is the brand new Far Cry game from Ubisoft Montreal,  a sequel to Far Cry 5, the hugely popular first person shooter. Set 17 years after the events of Far Cry 5 and you will see similarities to the setting of Hope County, yet in a completely different setting. Post Apocalyptic.

In Far Cry: New Dawn you return to Hope County 17 years after a global nuclear catastrophe. Civilisation is all but been wiped out. Therefore those that remain are fighting to survive. Factions have been created and risen. Bringing everything into disrepute.

One of the factions that have arisen in this post apocalyptic civilisation is the Highwaymen. Which is led by twin sisters Mickey and Lou. The Highwaymen cause terror amongst the civilisation bleeding survivors of all available resources.Help those left behind defend their lands against this relentless onslaught or come to their aid and lead the fight.

You can help the remaining communities grow stronger, help craft a makeshift arsenal. By doing a range of cross-country expeditions, helping to upgrade your homebase. Leading to an improvement in facilities which lead to powerful weapons and gear. You can even form alliances with those you may not expect. All to secure your place in the new world you have found yourself in.

You can play the game singularly or like Far Cry 5, take on the world in two player co-op. You may come across some mutated forms of wildlife!

Devil May Cry 5 – Fast Paced. High Octane. A LOT OF FUN!

We recently got our hands on an exclusive play through of Devil May Cry 5 and let us tell you now, that it is absolutely amazing! What a great start to the year in the gaming world?! If you have ever played Devil May Cry series before, the game play of Devil May Cry 5 will come as no surprise to you. The game is very easy to play, very easy to pick up. Exactly how you’d expect a hack and slasher like the Devil May Cry series to be like.  The brand new character V is an incredible addition to the franchise too, bringing a breath of fresh air to an already great series. Furthermore there an additional 2 other brand new characters, each with their own set of play style.

The over the top style of play is something that we love and it’s fast paced, high octane gameplay style that what everyone loved, is what draws people to the latest instalment and undoubtedly the reason as to why this game is highly anticipated from a lot of the gaming community. You will not be disappointed by this game. Whether you are a fan of the series or not.

Fortnite Marshmellow

Fortnite Marshmellow MONSTER Concert!

During the Super Bowl this past Sunday something amazing happened. It wasn’t the half-time show from Maroon 5, nor was it the Patriots winning the Super Bowl again. Introducing Fortnite’s Marshmellow monster concert!

It happened in the hugely popular video game Fortnite. Players who were logged into Fortnite at 19:00GMT were only allowed to play one game mode: Showtime.

Interactive Concert

By playing this game mode, players were treated to a Marshmellow concert, complete with a Marshmellow avatar and trademark turntables, a concert which was entirely live, while the masked DJ urge players to dance and have fun along to the music.

Marshmellow’s Fortnite set lasted 10mins and players could launch themselves into the air, bounce beach balls and dance, the set was entirely interactive.It is said that MILLIONS attended Marshmellow’s set, during which non music game modes weren’t available to them. Therefore judging by the fact that there are an estimated 125million users a fair chunk of those would’ve been in this set.

It would be interesting to know if it rivalled the numbers of the actual Super Bowl half time show, if so, is this an argument for other games to host their own mini music concert? Anthem Open Demo

Anthem is EA’s brand new game that really surprised everyone during E3 2017. It’s a brand new game, a brand new franchise in a completely new universe. It’s a futuristic open-world RPG that many are excited about and for good reason! We recently too the Anthem Open Demo for a spin recently and it is absolutely incredible!

Anthem is an upcoming online only, multiplayer, open world,  third person RPG game that’s being developed by BioWare Edmonton and published by EA. Due for release in 2018, this game is said to be HUGE and it’s release is not too far away. February 22nd to be exact! You and your friends take take on a role of a Freelancer in a group of up to 4 bold and courageous people who leave their civilisation to explore a dangerous yet beautiful landscape.

We’ve played the Anthem Open Demo for a while and we absolutely love it and cannot wait to play the full game. It’s a breath of fresh air and we cannot wait to team up with the rest of the How To Kill An Hour crew.

We have got our hands on another heavy hitter for 2018 and that’s Just Cause 4! 

The open world giant focuses this time round on massive destruction, crazy explosions and more player creativity. Other things will come into play and start to affect a players experience during their time with Just Cause 4. For example, the new outing from Avalanche Studios will include bouts of extreme weather. Like their namesake, blizzards, as well as playing tag team with storms that include lightning and tornados!

Famous for it’s out of it’s world physics and craziness, Just Cause 4 will also allow players to get wild with their fighting. Users will have the ability to use grapples and boosters! However, this time round there is much more choice. For example one of them will allow players to bind vehicles and enemies together before catapulting them into the sky! Just Cause 4 is out now on PS4, Xbox One and PC. (Polygon)

Anyone with a PS4 will know there are hundreds of games to choose from, and will sometimes have difficulty in picking the best ones for the type of game they like. There are incredible new games being released, and as a gamer, you could find there are plenty of the older you want to play that you have not yet got round to.

 

Racing Games

 

The PlayStation 4 has had many driving games in the past and still has quite a few currently available. You could try Tiny Trax, to race around a track or Redout: Lightspeed Edition if your fancy a race through space. Dirt $ is a really good rally racing game, and with F1 2017 you will be faced with all the challenges involved by the expert drivers in the real races.

 

In fact, if driving games are what you are after, there are more than enough to keep you occupied for a very long time.

Action Games

 

Action games are the biggest sellers for all games consoles, including the PS4. This is because there is so many that can be said to be adventures, and some of them are exclusive to this console.

 

Street Fighter, Persona, The Last Guardian, Uncharted, Bloodborne, Spider-Man, Horizon Zero Dawn and God of War are just a few of them, there are many more that you can only play on a PS4.

 

Call of Duty, Doom and Fallout are among the ones available in formats for other consoles, but that does not detract from what great games they are.

 

Fantasy Games

 

There is certainly no shortage of fantasy games for the PS4. Divinity, The Witcher, Nioh, Gravity Rush and Final fantasy are just a few of the most popular ones, but there are many more. If you want to get away from the real world for a while these games are a great way to do that. Forget the stresses of everyday life for a while and immerse yourself into one of the PS4 fantasy games.

Fortnite has taken the world by storm and there are not many people with a PS4 that are not playing Fortnite: Battle Royale. Easily the most popular of the current PlayStation games, you have to use your weapons and building skills against the other players. The last person standing is the winner, but even better than that is that the game is free.

 

Sports Games

 

No collection of games for a console would be complete without some sports games. Of course, it depends on what your favorite sport is as to the ones you would want to play. If you want to have a game of football there are the FIFA games, or you could get into a match with WWE. You can play tennis, basketball or any one of many other sports on a PS4.

 

The PS4 is one of the most popular games consoles and many households have one. Over the years since they were first introduced, they have kept pace with technology and any new innovations that have been developed.

cyberpunk 2077

Developer CD Projekt Red describe Cyberpunk 2077 as an ““an open world, narrative-driven role-playing game” so essentially this game, as beautiful as it looks, is a first person role playing game. A first person role playing game that is also open world and narrative driven. We are liking the sound of this already! Fallout fans listen up! As even though the game is in first person, the game is said to offer players, plenty of chances to see what your character looks like. Pointing out that the game is a First Person RPG and not an FPS.

We are liking the route that this game is taking, making sure to emphasise the fact that it’s not just a shooter and it seems like there is a HUGE focus on storytelling. That’s what we got from the trailer, the trailer looked very movie like and we cannot wait to get our hands on it!

Plot

Users are playing as “V”, who is a “hired gun on the rise” within the Cyberpunk violent metropolis, Night City. Judging from the trailer we are getting a Matrix/Ready Player One vibe to the game. Going more indepth on the character customization, CD Projekt Red promises a “robust character creator” which will allow platers to choose things such as gender, appearance class and even their characters backgrounds. However, choose wisely as the choices that you make now, will affect and influence how the game plays out.

Yet much like regular RPG’s players are encouraged to interact with the various residents of Night City. Users do this via a dialogue system, which in turn will navigate the Cyberpunk 2077 narrative. With CD Prokekt Red stating that “difficult decisions will ripple through the entire game” (Polygon)
