We got our hands on the new Lego Dimensions

We were lucky enough to be invited down to the Warner Bros studio in Watford to take a look at some of the new content coming to Lego Dimensions!

For those who don’t know, Lego Dimensions is a toy based video game, made by Warner Brothers and Traveller’s Tales. It’s similar to all the other Lego games, where you explore worlds solving puzzles and beating up bad guys, except it combines loads of different properties together to make one crazy game!

You want to have Bart Simpson ride his skateboard with Scooby Doo? Want Harry Potter to have a magic battle with Gandalf? Now you can!

We got to see a presentation talking about all the up and coming playsets for the game, featuring Ghostbusters, Gremlins, Adventure Time and loads more. One that looked particularly amazing was the Sonic the Hedgehog level pack. It lets you play as Sonic and even has a Green Hill Zone level!!!

We then got to have a go at the game, playing around with the first level of the new Ghostbusters 2016 playset. The playset lets you experience the entire movie through 6 levels, and while you had to play as the Ghostbusters, you could also bring characters from other worlds into the story.

We got to beat up ghosts as Finn and Jake from Adventure Time, while Batman was riding around in the Ecto-1 (The Ghostbusters car).

It was crazy, but we couldn’t stop smiling.

The game also introduced a new mode called Battle Arena. In the arena, you get to play with three other mates in a variety of game modes, including capture the flag and objective. But the one that stood out was Tick Tack Boom, a variant on Hot Potato where you run around on a giant bomb, and crushing people passes the bomb onto them. It felt like you were reliving the famous boulder chase scene from Indiana Jones, only with an explosive bomb!

We can’t wait to get our hands on more of this second wave of toys for Lego Dimensions. So keep an eye out as we may be covering more of the game as it comes out!!!
